Belle & Sebastian - ‘Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance’

Qualche dettaglio in più si trova nell'intervista a Stuart Murdoch e al batterista Richard Colburn uscita qualche giorno fa su The Quietus: «somebody trying to make a political record is somebody making a boring record. It's what people do when they've given up on life and romance. But I think I have become more aware of the outside world – you start looking around you a bit more when you're older. I was interested in similar characters, but perhaps considering how the political world affects them"».

- Agli antipodi, «nothing is more important than ego»: consigliabile la lettura degli (un po' anacronistici ma sempre divertenti) Everett Trues’s Handy Hints For Budding Writers.

- Ancora a proposito di donne vincenti, Lindsay Zoladz su Vulture: "2014: The Year That All-Female Collaborations Ruled the Radio".

- «At the minute our mindset is purely focused on making another record. If we come up with something worthwhile and good then we'll continue»: vi ricordate quando eravamo tutti emozionati per la reunion degli Slowdive?

- «There are definitely times when we’ve been in crazy poverty and have questioned why we were doing this. I’ve worked myself so hard that to the point of getting really sick or to not having a proper relationship with my family or my friends»: i Growlers su The Bay Bridged. Impossibile non voler bene a questi disgraziati.

- «From the surveys available, it may simply be impossible to know exactly how teens consume music. If anything, their range of preferences keeps the music industry's options open»: un po' demoralizzante ma non pessimista, "No One Knows How Teens Listen to Music" su The Atlantic.

- «My anti-depressants have made it impossible for me to cry, it gets stuck in my throat constantly. I think that if it broke free, it would go on forever»: "Coke, Porn, Mountain-Climbing And Me", un autoritratto di John Grant su Mojo.

- «Back then they were kids. Nerds, really. Their cool came from their lack of anxiety about that fact. You could see it in how they presented themselves, how they dressed, in what was basically the detritus of New York City: big scruffed-up parkas, discarded military jackets, work boots, hooded sweatshirts. Worn in that unselfconscious way of people who have yet to see themselves in the mirror, let alone on the cover of a record»: compito fin troppo facile per Zach Baron su GQ, esaltare lo stile di gente come Beastie Boys e LL Cool J e la loro influenza nel presente - "Under the Influence: How Def Jam's Early Days Inspired this Season's Look".
